Lyopar: The Adaptable, Versatile, Everyday Backpack

Hi Lyopar backers,

We are facing big challenges caused by the impact of the Covid-19. Factory production has been severely affected and production capacity is still lower than in the same period last year. We are now providing the following feedback to everyone, responding to the most concerning questions.

The final prototype confirmed

The final prototype should be confirmed within the week.

(Hidden pocket is revised to be easier to input your belongings)

Moreover, we’ve received half of the material for the outer-fabric. The color of the outer fabric is a bit dimmer than the last backpack prototype. That needs a second revision and confirmation.

The supply chain & production delay

We expect to work with our current backpack supplier partners. We also need to work with more reliable supplier partners to complete mass production in a timely manner. If there are more partners to coordinate production and provide assistance (including strict quality control) we should complete the mass production at the end of July.

NIIDAYE cannot live without your support. As a start-up, we are lacking experience in dealing with such public health events. We may disappoint because of our lagging responsiveness to the world situation. We've learned a lot of lessons.

The Third Prototype & Mass Production

ABOUT THE NEW PROTOTYPE

We received the 3rd prototype from our manufacturing partner. It’s been two weeks and our team is still working on it. We want to share some information with you about the prototype. Please check the video below.

In this video, you can see that our team member was trying to put his debit card in the secret pocket but failed. After double-checking with the manufacturer, they said there’s a small-tailed stiffener inside of the secret pocket that is needed to input the credit card, and it needs to be moved slightly.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Like we said in the last update, we’re not going to do a mass production until a nice perfect prototype comes out. We need to make sure every detail of the backpack is of its highest quality.

WE’RE NOT STOPPING

Though the new prototype is not as we want it yet, we are still preparing half of the materials including the Eco-fabric, stiffener, etc for the backpack.

What is the NIIDAYE team doing now?

Well, we’re not satisfy with the 3rd prototype. The shoulder strap pocket needs revision, the inner fabric also needs an upgrade for a better looking. We want to revise it so metro and credit cards for with ease:

Before: There was input from outside in, but it’s not ergonomic.

Now: We want to adjust it so you can put cards in from inside. This way its ergonomics and more comfortable.

STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED

Hello Lyopar backers,

There’s good news to share, the 1st and 2nd stretch goals have been unlocked!

Many of you want the anti-theft hidden back pocket and hidden card pocket (on the shoulder strap). And, we want to give them to you!

After endless discussions with our manufacturing partners, we want to compromise. We are going to give you the stretch goal features for 200k and 300k. We want to keep this campaign active, even given the current state of the world and business. Hopefully, more backers will visit our Kickstarter page.

The Lyopar backpack was set to be delivered in May. However, the COVID-19 outbreak is something we can’t predict and as a result, we have suspended shipping activities. We got feedback from our logistics company that a lot of international flights are being and have been canceled because airplanes are now being used to transport COVID-19 medical supplies.

At this point, we have no choice but to put off delivery to sometime in June. We do understand that this delay may make you annoyed, especially for backers who can’t wait to test and try out Lyopar backpack. We appreciate your understanding and are doing our best to send out the rewards ASAP.
